Privacy Policy

Introduction

QuoteKings (referred to as "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy describes the types of personal information we collect through our services (as a lead aggregator for auto insurance, home insurance, and health insurance in the United States), how we use and share that information, and your rights regarding your information. By using our website or services, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of our site and services.

1. Collection of Personal Information

We collect personal information that you provide to us directly, as well as information collected automatically when you use our site. The types of information we may collect include:

  • Information You Provide: When you fill out forms or request insurance quotes on QuoteKings, we may ask for personal identifiers and contact details such as your name, phone number, email address, postal address, and other details relevant to providing insurance quotes (for example, information about your vehicle, home, or health insurance needs). You may also provide demographics (e.g. age, date of birth) or other details as part of your quote request. Providing this information is voluntary, but necessary to receive quotes or services.
  • Automatically Collected Information: We automatically collect certain information about your visit using cookies and other tracking technologies (see Section 2 below for more on cookies). This information can include your IP address, device identifiers, browser type and version, operating system, referring/exit pages, and timestamps of visits. We may also collect data about your browsing actions on our site (such as pages viewed, clicks, and interactions) to understand usage patterns.
  • Cookies and Tracking Data: As you navigate our site, we and our partners use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to collect data about your device and online activity. This can include cookies (small text files stored on your browser) that remember your preferences and login status, and tracking pixels/web beacons that help us count users or understand email engagement. (See Section 2 for details on how we use these technologies.)
  • Information from Third Parties: We may receive personal information about you from third-party sources in some cases. For example, our marketing partners or affiliates might provide us your contact information if you were referred to our service through their platform. We could also obtain updated address or contact information from data verification services to keep our records accurate. We treat any information obtained from third parties in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

No Collection from Children: QuoteKings is intended for use by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you are under 13, do not use this site or submit any information. If we become aware that we have received personal data from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete that information. Parents or guardians who believe we may have collected information from a minor can contact us to request deletion (see Contact Information below).

2. Use of Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve your experience and gather information about visitors and visits to our website, including:

  • Cookies: Cookies are small files placed on your browser. We use both session cookies (which expire when you close your browser) and persistent cookies (which remain until they expire or are deleted) to remember user preferences, authenticate users, and enhance site functionality. For example, cookies allow us to remember your insurance quote inputs so you don’t have to re-enter information if you navigate away and return later.
  • Analytics Tools: We utilize third-party analytics services such as Google Analytics to collect information about usage of our site. Google Analytics may set its own cookies to track page views, referral sources, and other details of your activities on our site. This helps us analyze user traffic and improve our services. Google Analytics only provides us aggregated data (not personal identifiers), and you can opt out of Google Analytics by using the official Google browser opt-out tool if you prefer.
  • Advertising & Pixels: We also partner with advertising networks and social media platforms to help deliver advertising content. For instance, we use the Facebook Pixel and similar tracking pixels to measure the effectiveness of our ads and to deliver personalized advertisements on Facebook or other third-party platforms. These pixels track when you take certain actions on our site and may cause you to see tailored ads on other sites or social media. Other trackers may include ad network cookies or pixels from partners so that we can reach you with relevant insurance offers across the web.
  • Third-Party Cookies: Some content or applications on our site may be served by third parties (such as an embedded video player or an ad). These third parties may set their own cookies or use their own tracking technologies. We do not control third-party cookies, but note that no third-party has access to personal information through our cookies. They may, however, collect information about your browsing activity over time and across different websites, which can be used for analytics or ad targeting by those third parties.

Your Choices (Cookies): Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies or alert you when cookies are being sent. However, please note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of our site (for example, some pages may not remember your preferences). You can also opt out of certain interest-based advertising through tools like the Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) or Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) websites. Our site currently does not respond to "Do Not Track" signals, but we only use cookies and tracking as described above. By using our site, you consent to our use of cookies and tracking technologies as described in this section.

3. Purpose of Data Collection

We collect and use personal information for a variety of business and commercial purposes. The primary purposes for which QuoteKings collects your information include:

  • Providing Requested Services: To process your requests for insurance quotes or related services. For example, we use your personal details and insurance-related information to generate or obtain insurance offers tailored to you in the auto, home, or health insurance categories.
  • Connecting You with Insurance Providers: As a lead aggregator, we use the information you provide to match you with appropriate insurance providers, brokers, or agents. We share the necessary details with our insurance partners so they can create and provide you with quotes, contact you to discuss your needs, or otherwise service your request. (See Section 4 on data sharing.)
  • Communication: To communicate with you about your quotes, requests, or account. This includes sending you confirmations, updates, or responses to inquiries. We may also send administrative emails or notifications (for example, changes to our terms or policies, or security alerts). These are not marketing communications, but essential service communications.
  • Marketing and Promotional Purposes: To send you marketing communications about insurance products or other services that may interest you. We may use your contact information to send newsletters, offers, surveys, or promotional messages, either from QuoteKings or from our marketing partners. We also may use data collected (like browsing behavior or quote information) to personalize and improve the relevancy of the advertisements you see on our site or elsewhere.
  • Improvement and Analytics: To analyze and understand how users interact with our website and services. This helps us troubleshoot issues, improve the user experience, develop new features, and refine our business strategy. For instance, we might analyze which insurance vertical (auto, home, health) is most popular or how users navigate our forms, in order to enhance our platform.
  • Legal Compliance and Protection: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes or governmental requests. We may use personal information to enforce our Terms of Service, detect and prevent fraud or other prohibited activities, and protect the rights and safety of our company, our users, or others. If necessary, we will use and disclose information to meet legal obligations or respond to lawful requests (such as subpoenas or court orders).

We will only use your personal information for the purposes for which we collected it (as described above) or for closely related purposes. If we need to use your information for an unrelated purpose, we will notify you and obtain your consent when required by law.

4. Sharing of Data with Third Parties

We understand the importance of your personal information and only share it with third parties for legitimate business reasons, as described below. Whenever we disclose personal information to third parties, we take steps to ensure those parties protect the information and use it only for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.

Categories of Third Parties with whom we may share information:

  • Insurance Providers, Agents, and Brokers: The core of our service is to connect you with insurance options. When you request an insurance quote or other services through QuoteKings, we will share your personal information with relevant insurance companies, licensed agents, brokers, or other intermediaries in the auto, home, or health insurance industries. For example, if you request an auto insurance quote, we might forward your name, contact details, vehicle information, and coverage preferences to one or multiple auto insurance carriers or their agents so they can prepare personalized quotes and contact you. These partners will use your information to provide you with insurance offers and may contact you via phone, email, or text to follow up on your request. By using our service and providing your information, you consent to this disclosure of your information to insurance partners for the purpose of obtaining quotes and related services.
  • Marketing and Advertising Partners: We may share certain personal and usage information with marketing partners, advertisers, or data analytics companies that assist us in reaching new customers or serving targeted advertisements. For instance, we might share your email (in a hashed, non-readable form) with a social media platform to find similar audiences for our ads, or provide information about your visit to analytics/ad companies to measure ad effectiveness. We may also allow third-party advertising networks to collect information (via cookies or pixels) on our site to serve you ads for QuoteKings on other sites. Any such sharing is done to support our marketing efforts and only as permitted by law.
  • Service Providers and Vendors: We employ third-party companies and individuals to perform functions on our behalf and help us operate our business (“service providers”). This includes, for example: website hosting providers, data storage or cloud services, customer relationship management (CRM) software providers, email delivery services, call center or SMS messaging services, and analytics providers like Google Analytics or Facebook (as described above). These service providers may have access to personal information as needed to perform their functions, but they are contractually obligated to keep your information confidential and to use it only for the specific services we request.
  • Affiliates and Related Companies: If QuoteKings is part of a family of companies or has subsidiaries, we may share your information within our corporate affiliates for purposes consistent with this Privacy Policy. For example, a parent or sister company in the insurance or marketing business might receive your information for centralized management or analysis. Any affiliated entity receiving your data will honor the same privacy commitments.
  • Business Transfers: If we undergo a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition by another company, sale of all or part of our assets, or in the unlikely event of bankruptcy or restructuring, your personal information may be disclosed to a successor or affiliate as part of that transaction. We would only do this under appropriate confidentiality protections and only to the extent necessary for the transaction to be evaluated or completed. The recipient of your data in any such transfer would be bound to honor the terms of this Privacy Policy.
  • Legal and Compliance Reasons: We may disclose your personal information to third parties when we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to comply with a legal obligation or process. This includes sharing information in response to lawful requests by public authorities (e.g., subpoenas, court orders, or government requests), or to meet national security or law enforcement requirements. We may also share information if needed to enforce our site’s Terms and Conditions, to investigate or protect against suspected illegal activities, fraud, or security issues, or to assert or defend our legal rights. In these cases, we will limit the information shared to what is strictly necessary for the purpose.
  • With Your Consent: Apart from the cases listed above, we will ask for your explicit consent before sharing your personal information with third parties for any purpose not covered by this Privacy Policy. You have the right to refuse such sharing or revoke consent at any time.

We do not sell your personal information to unaffiliated third parties for their independent use without your consent. However, the transfers of information described above (especially to insurance partners to obtain quotes, or to marketing partners to facilitate advertising) may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under certain privacy laws (like the California Consumer Privacy Act) because our partners might use the information for their own marketing or business purposes. If you are a California resident, you have the right to opt out of such sale/sharing of your information (see Section 5 below for your rights and choices under CCPA).

Additionally, we may share aggregated or de-identified information (information that does not identify you personally) with third parties at our discretion. For example, we might share statistics about how many users requested home insurance quotes in a given month, or broad demographic trends. This information contains no personal identifiers and is used for industry analysis, marketing, advertising, or other business purposes.

5. Your Privacy Rights (CCPA and GDPR Compliance)

We value your privacy and strive to comply with all applicable data protection laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), where they apply. Depending on your residency or location, you may have specific rights regarding your personal information. We provide all users with substantial control over their personal data as outlined below:

Rights for California Residents (CCPA/CPRA): If you are a resident of California, you have the following rights with respect to your personal information (subject to certain exceptions and limitations under the law):

  • Right to Know: You have the right to request that we disclose what personal information we have collected about you in the past 12 months, including the categories of information, the sources of that information, the business or commercial purposes for collection, the categories of third parties with whom we shared the information, and the specific pieces of personal information we hold about you.
  • Right to Delete: You have the right to request that we delete personal information we have collected from you (and direct our service providers to do the same), subject to certain exceptions. For example, we may retain information as required by law or for legitimate business needs (such as completing transactions you requested or detecting security incidents).
  • Right to Opt-Out of Sale/Sharing: You have the right to direct us not to sell your personal information to third parties. As noted above, QuoteKings does not sell personal data for monetary payment, but we do share information with partners for business purposes that might be considered a "sale" under CCPA’s broad definition. If you are a California resident and wish to opt out of the sharing of your information with third parties for marketing or lead generation purposes, you can contact us to exercise this opt-out (see Exercising Your Rights below). We also honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in browsers as a valid opt-out of sale request.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights. This means we will not deny you our services, charge you a different price, or provide a different level of service solely because you exercised your rights under CCPA. However, please note that if the exercise of your privacy rights limits our ability to process your information (for example, if you request deletion of all your data), we may not be able to provide you with certain services that rely on that information.

Rights for EU/EEA Residents (GDPR): If you are located in the European Union, European Economic Area, or another jurisdiction with similar data protection laws (such as the UK), you are entitled to certain rights under the GDPR or those local laws. These include:

  • Right of Access: You may request confirmation of whether we are processing your personal data, and if so, request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, as well as supplementary information about our processing activities.
  • Right to Rectification: If any personal data we have about you is inaccurate or incomplete, you have the right to request correction or completion of your data. We encourage you to keep your information up-to-date by notifying us of any changes.
  • Right to Erasure: You have the right to request that we erase your personal data in certain circumstances (commonly known as the "right to be forgotten"). This right is similar to the CCPA deletion right and is subject to certain exceptions (for example, we might need to retain data to comply with a legal obligation or if the data is necessary for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims).
  • Right to Restrict Processing: You can ask us to restrict or pause the processing of your personal data under certain conditions, such as if you contest the accuracy of the data or have objected to processing (pending our review of whether our legitimate grounds override yours). When processing is restricted, we will still store your information but will not use it for other purposes until the restriction is lifted.
  • Right to Data Portability: Where processing is carried out by automated means and based on your consent or on a contract with you, you have the right to request a copy of the personal data you provided to us in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format. You may also request that we transmit this data directly to another organization where technically feasible.
  • Right to Object: You have the right to object to our processing of your personal data when that processing is based on legitimate interests (including profiling based on those interests). If you object, we will stop processing your information unless we have compelling legitimate grounds to continue or where it is needed for legal reasons. You also have the right to object at any time to processing of your personal data for direct marketing purposes. If you object to direct marketing, we will cease using your personal data for such purposes.
  • Right to Withdraw Consent: In cases where we rely on your consent to process personal data (for example, if you consented to receive marketing emails), you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal. If you withdraw consent for a specific purpose, we may not be able to provide certain services to you (but we will advise you if this is the case).

Exercising Your Rights: To exercise any of your applicable privacy rights (whether under CCPA, GDPR, or other privacy laws), please contact us using the information provided in Section 8 (Contact Information). Please clearly describe your request – for example, if you want to access your data, delete certain information, or opt out of marketing or data sales. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests, especially for access, deletion, or personal data portability requests. Verification may involve confirming information we have on file or asking for additional information as needed to ensure we are dealing with the correct individual. We will respond to your request within the timeframe required by law (for example, under CCPA we typically have 45 days to respond, which may be extended by another 45 days with notice).

If you are an authorized agent making a request on behalf of another person, we may require proof of your authorization and verification of the identity of the person for whom you are making the request.

For California residents: If you wish to opt out of the "sale" or sharing of your personal information as defined by CCPA, you may also use the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link on our website (if available), or send us an email stating your request. Enabling a browser-based opt-out signal such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC) will also be treated as a valid opt-out of sale/sharing request for that browser, if applicable.

For EU residents: If you believe we have not adequately addressed your privacy concerns, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your country’s data protection authority or supervisory authority.

6. Opt-Out of Marketing Communications

You have control over how we communicate with you for promotional and marketing purposes. If at any time you prefer not to receive marketing emails, newsletters, or promotional offers from us, you can opt out or unsubscribe by using any of the following methods:

  • Email Opt-Out: Click the "Unsubscribe" link provided in any promotional email you receive from us. This will remove you from our marketing email list. Alternatively, you may contact us by email (see Section 8 below) and request to be removed from future marketing emails. Please note that it may take a short time to process your email opt-out request, during which you might receive a few emails already in production.
  • Phone and Text Communications: If you have provided your phone number and consented to receive marketing calls or text/SMS messages, you can opt out of further calls or texts. To opt out of telemarketing calls, you may request to be placed on our internal “Do Not Call” list by contacting us. For text messages, you can typically reply "STOP" to any SMS we send, and we will honor that request. Be aware that opting out of text communications will remove you from future marketing texts, but we may send a confirmatory message to acknowledge your opt-out.
  • Partner Marketing: As noted, we may share your information with insurance partners or marketing partners who might send you communications about insurance products. If you wish to opt out of communications from a third-party partner, please follow the instructions provided by that partner in their communications (for example, using their unsubscribe link or following their opt-out procedures). If you need assistance, you can contact us and we will try to help facilitate the removal of your information from a partner’s marketing list, where possible.

Please understand that even if you opt out of marketing communications, we may still need to contact you for non-marketing reasons. For example, we might send you service or transactional communications regarding an insurance quote you requested, important updates to our Privacy Policy or Terms of Service, security alerts, or other information relating to your use of our services. These service-related communications are not promotional in nature and thus are not covered by the above opt-out preferences.

7. Data Security Measures

We take the security of your personal information seriously. QuoteKings implements a variety of technical, administrative, and physical security measures designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include, for example:

  • Encryption: We use encryption protocols (such as SSL/TLS) to secure data transmitted between your browser and our website. This means that when you enter personal information on our forms, the data is encrypted in transit.
  • Access Controls: We restrict access to personal data to authorized personnel who have a legitimate need to know in order to perform their job duties. Our staff are trained on the importance of privacy and security. We also use authentication measures (such as passwords and, where appropriate, multi-factor authentication) to prevent unauthorized access to systems where personal data is stored.
  • Firewalls and Monitoring: Our systems are protected by firewalls and intrusion detection systems that monitor network traffic and guard against unauthorized access attempts. We regularly update and patch our software and infrastructure to address security vulnerabilities.
  • Vendor Due Diligence: When we share information with service providers (as described in Section 4), we ensure they are bound by contracts requiring them to protect your data and use it only for the services provided. We also assess our vendors’ security practices as needed.
  • Data Retention and Minimization: We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes stated in this policy or as required by law. When personal data is no longer needed, we securely dispose of it.

While we strive to protect your information with these measures, please be aware that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee absolute security. You should also take care with how you handle and disclose your personal information. For instance, avoid sending sensitive information via email, and remember that you are responsible for keeping any account credentials secure. If you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure (for example, if you feel that the security of your account has been compromised), please contact us immediately so that we can take appropriate action.

8. Contact Information

If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or our data practices, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are here to address your inquiries and support you in exercising your privacy rights.

If you are contacting us to exercise any of your rights described in Section 5, please provide sufficient information for us to verify your identity (as explained in Section 5) and to understand and respond to your request.

9. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update or revise this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. If we make changes, we will post the updated Privacy Policy on this page with a new "Last Updated" date. In the event of material changes that affect how we collect, use, or share your personal information, we will take reasonable steps to notify you of those changes. This could include, for example, posting a prominent notice on our website or sending a notification to the email address we have on file for you (if you have provided one).

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information. Your continued use of QuoteKings after any modifications to this Privacy Policy will signify your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree with any updates or changes, you should stop using our services and contact us if you wish to remove your information.
